As souls having a human experience, one of the ways we experience happiness is through growth. Without a past and past memories we cannot grow. Growth is a measurement of where we are compared to yesterday. The same is true about learning. If we are only present in the moment we never learn anything because learning is a measurement of knowing something we didn’t “before.” Again a comparison to the past.
Self-evolution. Being more, becoming more, if we aren’t learning and growing we are dying. One dilemma humans face is tying their happiness to specific outcomes. This is certainly a trap. There are many that tell us it is important to set goals and actively take some control over our own growth but fail to say that tying our happiness to these goals and their outcomes will reverse the positive effects of the growth itself.
In a cause and effect world, we still choose and are responsible for, our emotional states, which are our bodies manifesting our thought processes. And our emotional states use the complex chemical relations and electricity in our bodies to bring our thoughts into matter. Our breath and our control over it, is the tool that bridges this connection between the body and mind.
Happiness isn’t joy, but it is on the way.
We chose to manifest into a human form so our soul could experience all that being trapped in form could offer. Limiting these experience ultimately denies the soul and makes joy impossible. Our emotional states are a busy two way street. When something causes an emotion then the emotion causes the something.
And we know our thoughts cause emotions. One emotion, one street, many emotions, many streets. The soul didn’t choose this journey to see one street, so while we favor some emotions over others, we will not learn the lessons of this journey, unless we experience all of them. The most important part of the lesson is learning we are in control. Cause and effect shifts when we own both parts.
